About

We are survivors of childhood alcohol adversity. We are resilient. We are no longer silent. These are our stories and how we can recover from Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and toxic stress. ACEs are a public health crisis in the US. A child living with an alcohol-addicted parent can end up with cumulative ACEs and a dysregulated nervous system; as adults, we are at high risk for chronic health problems, mental illness, and substance addiction -- but together we can heal. Inspired by the work of pediatrician and the Surgeon General of California, Nadine Burke Harris.
