Move your podcasts from Spotify to Parasocial

Spotify has no export. Three ways get your shows out, and one tap brings them in.

Updated September 10, 2026

1. Export your podcasts from Spotify

Spotify has no export, so pick one of these three ways. They all end in the same list, and you can combine them.

Ask Spotify for your data

The complete way. Spotify sends you a file with every show you follow and every show you listened to.

  1. Open spotify.com/account/privacy and sign in.
  2. Under Download your data, tick Account data and click Request data.
  3. Confirm the email Spotify sends you. The zip usually arrives within a few days.
  4. Choose that zip here. It is read in your browser and never uploaded.

Or drop it anywhere on this page. The YourLibrary.json inside the zip works too.

Take screenshots

The quick way, from your phone, right now.

  1. In the Spotify app, open Your Library and tap Podcasts at the top.
  2. Take a screenshot, scroll down a page, take another. Keep going to the end of the list.
  3. Add the screenshots here. The names are read on your device and the pictures never leave it.

As many as it takes. Reading each one takes a few seconds.

Add shows one at a time

A show’s name, or its Spotify link from the share button.

2. Check your list

Your shows appear here as you add them, each matched to its public feed.

3. Bring them into Parasocial

One tap opens Parasocial with your list. Tap Subscribe once and every show is yours.

Free on the App Store for iPhone, iPad and Mac. Don’t have it yet? Get Parasocial, then come back and tap this.

Questions

Does Spotify export podcasts?

No. Spotify has no OPML export and no list of feed addresses for the shows you follow. The three ways on this page work around that: Spotify's own data download lists your followed shows by name, a screenshot of your library can be read for names, and any show can be added by name or link. Each name is then matched to the show's public feed.

What is in the Spotify data file?

The Account data package from spotify.com/account/privacy is a zip. Inside it, YourLibrary.json lists every show you follow, with its publisher, and the StreamingHistory_podcast files list what you played over the past year. This page reads both in your browser and shows your followed shows first, with the shows you only listened to underneath, unticked.

How long does the Spotify data download take?

Spotify says up to 30 days. In practice the Account data package usually arrives within a few days. The screenshot way works right now if you would rather not wait.

Does anything get uploaded?

No. The zip is unpacked in your browser and the screenshots are read on your device. Only show names, and the publisher when it is known, are sent to the directory to find each show's feed. The list you save is stored under a random link for 30 days and holds only public feed addresses.

Does my listening progress come across?

No. Spotify does not export where you are in an episode, so no app can bring that over. Your shows come across; you pick up from the latest episode.

Can I use this with a podcast app other than Parasocial?

Yes. Download OPML gives you a standard OPML file that Apple Podcasts on the Mac, Overcast, Pocket Casts, Castro and most other players can import.
