Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Super Simple websites, apps, and related services, including Parasocial, handle personal information.

Effective September 2, 2026

1. Who we are

Super Simple is a suite of software products operated by Dialect Agency Inc. DBA Super Simple. Parasocial is a Super Simple product. In this policy, “Super Simple,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to that company. This policy applies to our websites, apps, waitlists, support channels, and related services. A product may provide an additional notice when its data practices differ from this general policy.

2. Information we collect

Information you provide

We may collect your email address when you join a waitlist or mailing list, information you include in a support request, feedback you send us, and account details when a product requires an account.

App information

Our apps may process information you choose to import, create, or connect, including podcast subscriptions, episode progress, files, account identifiers, preferences, and provider synchronization data. We request device or account permissions only when needed for a feature you choose. Where a product is designed for on-device processing, its content stays on your device except when you direct the app to synchronize, export, share, back up, or connect to another service.

Purchases

App stores and payment providers process purchases. We may receive purchase status, subscription status, and transaction identifiers, but we do not receive your complete payment-card number from those providers.

Website and technical information

When you use our websites or services, we and our service providers may receive IP address, device and browser type, operating system, referring page, pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address, timestamps, diagnostic information, and security logs. Our websites use Google Analytics to understand visits and performance, including events such as joining the mailing list or following a download link.

Diagnostics and error reporting

Our apps, websites, and services use Sentry, an error-monitoring service operated by Functional Software, Inc., to collect diagnostic information. Apps send this information automatically. It may include crash reports, errors, app hangs, stack traces, performance measurements and traces, session replays of activity within our own interfaces, profiling data, log messages, device model, operating-system and app versions, available memory and storage, IP address, and timestamps. Diagnostic reports from our apps are associated with the pseudonymous account identifier shown as the Support ID in the app's settings, which lets us connect related reports and respond to yours. If you send a report or feedback from inside an app, we also receive what you choose to include, such as a message, a reply email address, a screenshot, recent app logs, and playback state. We use diagnostic information to maintain, troubleshoot, secure, and improve our products. Sentry processes this information for us in the United States.

3. Public profiles and playlists

Parasocial lets you publish playlists under a username. Nothing in this section applies until you sign in with Apple or claim a username. Your library stays anonymous either way.

Sign in with Apple

Claiming a username requires Sign in with Apple, and you can also sign in without a username to keep and recover your library. Apple gives us a user identifier for your Apple Account and, only if you allow it, your name. We do not request your email address. We use the identifier to link your Apple Account to your library so you can recover it on a new device, and to publish playlists under your username. Apple's own terms govern what Apple collects during sign-in.

What is public

Your username, display name, bio, and every playlist you make public are visible to anyone, including people who do not use the app, on shareable web pages and inside the app. Public content may be cached or copied by link previews, messaging apps, search engines, and other services we do not control. A public playlist shows its title, its episodes, and the number of accounts following it. The rules behind a smart playlist stay private; only the resulting episodes are published. Making a playlist private again removes it from our public pages, but copies and caches held by others may persist.

Follows and play counts

When you follow a public playlist, we store that follow with your account so the playlist can stay in step with the curator's changes across your devices. Curators see how many accounts follow a playlist, never who. When playback starts from a public playlist, we record an anonymous per-playlist count with no identifier for you or your device.

Reports and blocks

If you report a playlist or a curator, we keep the report, including the reason and any note you add, along with the account it was sent from. If you hide a curator, we store that block with your account. We retain reports and blocks to review complaints, act on them, prevent repeat abuse, and keep hidden content hidden.

Publisher sessions

Signing in creates a publishing session for your device. We store a hashed session token and when the session was created and last used. The token only authorizes publishing under your username; it does not grant access to your library.

What deletion removes

Deleting your account from the app removes your profile, your public playlists, your follows, your publishing sessions, and the link to your Apple Account, which we revoke with Apple. Removing your public profile without deleting your account makes your playlists private, releases your username, and ends your publishing sessions; your library and your Apple sign-in stay. Some things can persist after deletion: your released username is held for 30 days with no account attached so nobody can immediately take it over; reports you filed remain in our safety records; people who saved a copy of a public playlist keep their copy; and third-party caches of public pages are outside our control.

4. Cookies and similar technologies

Our websites may use cookies, local storage, pixels, and similar technologies. Essential technologies help the site function, remember security choices, and prevent abuse. Preference technologies remember settings. Measurement technologies, including Google Analytics, help us understand visits, performance, and which pages are useful. We may use service providers for hosting, security, analytics, error monitoring, and email delivery, and they may set or read these technologies for those purposes.

You can control cookies through your browser and, where required, through any consent controls we provide. Blocking some technologies may affect site features. We honor legally required opt-out signals, including a recognized Global Privacy Control signal, when it applies to our practices.

5. How we use information

  • Provide, maintain, synchronize, and improve products and requested features.
  • Operate waitlists, respond to support requests, and send product communications you requested.
  • Understand site and product performance and troubleshoot errors.
  • Protect users, products, and services from fraud, abuse, and security threats.
  • Comply with law, enforce our terms, and establish or defend legal claims.

Where European or UK data protection law applies, our legal bases may include performance of a contract, legitimate interests in operating and securing our services, consent, and compliance with legal obligations. You may withdraw consent where processing depends on it.

6. How we disclose information

We may disclose information:

  • To vendors that help us host, secure, analyze, support, communicate about, and operate our products, subject to contractual restrictions where required.
  • To app stores, payment providers, and connected services when needed for a feature or transaction.
  • When you direct us to share, export, synchronize, or connect information.
  • To anyone, including people without the app, when you make a profile or playlist public, as described in section 3.
  • When reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights or safety, or investigate misuse.
  • As part of a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of all or part of our business.

We do not currently sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. If that changes, we will update this policy and provide any legally required choices before doing so.

7. Retention and security

We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described here, including providing products, meeting legal and accounting obligations, resolving disputes, and protecting our services. Retention depends on the information, product, account status, and legal requirements. On-device data remains under your device and account controls.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the information we handle. No storage or transmission method is completely secure.

8. International processing

We and our vendors may process information in the United States and other countries. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers. Local privacy protections may differ from those where you live.

9. Your privacy choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, know about, correct, delete, or receive a copy of personal information; object to or restrict certain processing; withdraw consent; or appeal a decision. You may also opt out of marketing email by using the unsubscribe link in the message. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.

California residents may have rights to know, delete, correct, opt out of sale or sharing, limit certain uses of sensitive personal information, and receive equal service. We do not currently sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Authorized agents may submit requests where permitted by law. We may need to verify a request before acting on it.

To make a request, follow our data deletion instructions or email privacy@parasocial.fm.

10. Children

Our general-audience products are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through a developer-operated service. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it as appropriate.

11. Changes

We may update this policy when our products, practices, or legal obligations change. We will post the revised policy here, update the effective date, and provide additional notice when required.

On September 2, 2026 we added section 3, which covers Sign in with Apple, public profiles and playlists, follows, play counts, reports, blocks, publisher sessions, and what deleting your account removes.
