Support

We’re always listening because we know you are.

Updated September 3, 2026

Report a bug or request a feature

Tell us what broke or what is missing. Every message reaches a person who works on the app, and we reply.

What is this about?

This opens your mail app with everything filled in, so the report arrives from an address we can reply to.

You can also write to support@parasocial.fm directly. Please leave out passwords, authentication codes, and government identifiers. We never need them to help you.

Common fixes

New episodes are not showing up

Pull down on the show or list to refresh right away. Parasocial also checks in the background, but iOS decides when those checks run, so the timing varies. If a refresh still shows nothing, the show may not have published the episode to its feed yet.

A download will not finish

Downloads resume after a dropped connection, so start by checking your network and your free space. Settings has a Storage section showing how much audio is on the device, with controls to delete played downloads or all downloads. Anything you delete still streams on demand.

My library is not the same on both devices

Sync is anonymous and runs through iCloud. Both devices need to be signed in to the same Apple Account with iCloud turned on. Sync then catches up in the background. A large library takes a while on its first pass, so give it time before assuming something is wrong.

Speed, Trim Gaps, or Studio Sound is not behaving

These settings exist at four levels: the global defaults in Settings, then playlist, then podcast, then episode. The most specific one wins. If a single show sounds different from the rest, check that show’s own settings before the global ones.

Bringing a library over from another app

Parasocial imports standard OPML, which most podcast apps can export. From apps that write extended OPML, the import also carries playlists, priorities, stars, played state, and progress.

Something else is wrong

Quit and reopen the app first, then restart the device. If the problem survives both, send it to us with the form above. The Version and Support ID at the bottom of Settings tell us a lot, and the Support ID is selectable so you can copy it.

Public playlists and curators

Making a playlist public

Claim a username in the Curate tab, which asks you to sign in with Apple once so nobody else can take the name. Any playlist can then be switched to Public from its own settings, and it appears on your page with a link to share. Public playlists only include shows that are publicly listed, so an episode from a private feed is left out on purpose.

A playlist I follow is not changing

A followed playlist stays in step with the curator’s copy for as long as it is public. When a curator makes it private or removes their profile, your copy keeps the episodes it has and stops receiving changes.

Reporting or hiding a curator

Every public playlist and curator page has Report and Hide Playlists in its menu. Hiding a curator keeps their playlists out of your app; a report reaches us with your reason, and we review reports within one business day.

Leaving publishing

Remove Public Profile in Settings makes every playlist private, releases your username after a 30-day hold, and keeps your library as it is. Deleting your account from the app removes the profile and playlists as well; the data deletion page has the details.

Billing and subscriptions

Parasocial is free. The optional support subscription is managed in your Apple Account settings, where you can view, change, or cancel it. Apple handles payment and refund requests for App Store purchases. For anything about your subscription that Apple cannot resolve, email support@parasocial.fm.

Privacy and your data

Our Privacy Policy covers what we collect and why, the Terms of Service govern your use of the app, and the data deletion page explains how to remove data from your device or ask us to delete what we hold.

Privacy requests go to privacy@parasocial.fm, which reaches the same people.
