FAQ

Is the Mac app free?

Yes. Parasocial is free on Mac, iPhone and iPad, and every feature is free. The optional support subscription adds a Supporter badge and nothing else.

Do I need an account?

No. Your subscriptions, playlists, bookmarks and where you are in each episode sync between your own devices without one.

Is it the same app as the iPhone one?

Same player, same library, same place in the episode. Pause on the iPhone and press play on the Mac, and you are back at the second you left. The Mac app has menus, keyboard shortcuts and widgets of its own.

Does the Mac app play video?

Yes. Video podcasts play in the Mac app with Picture in Picture and Full Screen, streamed rather than downloaded.

Can I bring my library from another app?

Yes. Any player's OPML export brings your subscriptions. Overcast's extended export also brings playlists, priorities, stars and progress. Spotify has no export, so Parasocial made one.
